294. Oh Judy

Copycats, NEWS, Revelational Raaga, December Radio

These are the names of the musical bands I have sung in... It is always a great experience to sing with a band for a group of audience... There were times when we have performed brilliantly well to garner appreciation and there were instances of the band being booed down too.

Once when I sang the covers for a John Denver song,"Country roads" in college, I had been the victim of a tomato too. But I was never ever pelted with a stone or a rock. The genre "Rock music" came into evolution after a british musical band was pelted with rocks by an enraged mob.

Everyone would remember their first love. The first love would be in some part of everypne's hearts. I do remember the first time I performed a song on stage.I was 8 years old then. I had a big Givson guitar which was as tall as me.I had an uncle who accompanied me with the bass and another uncle played the drums for me.It was a romantic song and the name of the song is "Oh Judy". Recently I found an old audio-cassette-tape in the old rack at home and when I played it on the tape recorder, I was so glad to hear that same old song.I immediately converted it into a media file and uploaded it in youtube. Ladies and gentlemen! I take this time to present to you, my first ever on-stage-rockstaaaaa-wannabe performance. Check this video

293.He opened my eyes

Inspired from an e-mail...

I spend my evenings in a park. I always manage to find an empty bench and I would end up reading some book. Last evening I was reading a novel sitting on that park bench. There were a few people in the park. The usual calmness was missing. But as I liked that place, I continued to read. And if that weren't enough to ruin my day, a young boy out of breath approached me, all tired from play.

He stood right before me with his head tilted down and said with great excitement, "Look what I found".In his hand was a flower, and what a pitiful sight, with its petals all worn - not enough rain, or too little light.I do not like anyone disturbing me when I read a book.I faked a small smile at him and turned away.

But instead of retreating he sat next to my side and placed the flower to his nose and declared with overacted surprise"It sure smells pretty and it's beautiful, too. That's why I picked it; here, it's for you"The weed before me was dying or dead. Not vibrant of colors: orange, yellow or red.But I knew I must take it, or he might never leave. So I reached for the flower, and replied, "Just what I need".But instead of him placing the flower in my hand,he held it mid-air without reason or plan.It was then that I noticed for the very first time that the boy could not see. He was blind.I heard my voice quiver; tears shone in the sun.As I thanked him for picking the very best one"You're welcome" ,he smiled, and then ran off to play unaware of the impact he'd had on my day.

I sat there and wondered how he managed to open my eyes.Perhaps from his heart, he'd been blessed with true sight.Through the eyes of a blind child, at last I could see.The problem was not with the world; the problem was me.And for all of those times I myself had been blind.I vowed to see the beauty in life and appreciate every second that's mine

I held that wilted flower up to my nose and breathed in the fragrance of a beautiful rose and smiled as I watched that young boy with another weed in his hand about to change the life of an unsuspecting old man.

292. Shocking NEWS

I have never felt ashamed of anything in my life. I have cried, laughed and exhibited all forms of emotions all these years. But the one emotion "shyness" has never crossed its path with me. My parents were little bit worried when they found that i was indeed growing crazier and crankier by the day and even at night (cos my bed wetting skills grew to new design heights every night.) But that was a long time back. I don't do it anymore.

When i was ten years old, my parents were so much worried, because complaints about me poured from every nook and corner of the city.My school teachers would call my mom to school every alternative day complaining about something or the other. I was caught at least ten times trying to propose Renu with a love letter.

The neighbours fussed a lot too. I wanted to be a Sachin Tendulkar and they blamed me for the broken Windows. I am pretty sure that if i had continued playing cricket, India would have found another Sachin Tendulkar. I did not continue with cricket and hence became "The Chronicwriter".

One night, my dad and mom were discussing about me.I was in the 7th grade then. I knew that the topic was about me because i couldn't hear their conversation. The next morning my dad came to me and said ," Chriz! I have something to say to you. Listen! I know you are smart and hence I want to find out your IQ level". Indirectly he was telling me that he was taking me to a psychiatrist.I understood that the IQ thingie was just a spoof. Anyways I got excited with the whole idea because that is gonna be my first meeting with a psychiatrist.

That afternoon, dad, mom and I went to meet the psychiatrist. After a two hour session with him that included various tests the doctor told my dad that I was perfectly alright. My dad could not believe his ears. The IQ level was indeed high and my dad never expected that too. My dad sure started doubting the whole medical system.
Days have gone and nights have flown by; but the craziness is still piling up inside the brain of mine.Sometimes I am happy for it cos it helps me to smile. This blog of mine, I just wanna keep on writing. After twenty years, I will compile everything and print it down as a book and I will surely have a good time. I hope to read this very post in that book too.

Last week,I was randomly going through some world news in the Internet. One headline caught my attention. It read,"I am a serious and a shy girl:Paris Hilton". That's when I realised that the psychiatrist was right in his statement about me too.

Now you would surely agree with me when I say that I am the type of guy when some people meet me, they find the answer for the question "Why some animals eat their young ones"

291. Cupid has a bad aim

Sometimes when romance fill the air in my room; all I do is, take my guitar and dedicate a romantic song for my love. On this special day, I dedicate this song written by Aaron Wilburn for all my blog readers.Being single sometimes helps you to don the role of a cupid. Well, I am the cupid for my readers today.

When you watch this video, pull your partner close to you and say,"Honey this is for you".I have added the lyrics of this song here. You can sing along with me as you listen to this song. It is a very simple song. Hope you all would like this one. Have a great valentines day. If your connection is slow, please wait for the video to buffer and then watch the song.

You ask me if i love you and if my love is true? And if i were a rich man here is what i'd do.I'd buy you a diamond ring, A new fur coat too.If my nose was running money, i'll blow it all on you

If my nose was running money, i'll blow it all on you.I'd buy you a cadillac, a new Mercedes too.I'll build you a mansion, upon that mountain top.If my nose was running money;Oh Honey! But it's not.

If my nose was running money, you'd have anything you please. Anytime you needed cash, all i have to do is sneeze.Honey, you'd be a millionaire, when i have that cold or flu.If my nose was running money, I'll blow it all on you.

288. Complications in relationships

When i first fell in love with Renu, i found that she was in love with Shabir.

I, Renu and Shabir were in Kindergarten then. I tried my level best to get Renu's attention for 14 years and all through she was in love with Shabir. Those were precious memories from school life. Apparently Renu is presently married to Santosh. Poor Shabir. Hahaha...

This post is about relationships. Two-timers often end up getting beaten up big time by their partners. Remember Bill clinton and Monica.I am hundred percent sure that Hillary would have kicked the brains out of Bill when she came to know about the affair. Bill would have ended up sleeping on the couch for probably months on a stretch. I don't even know the various other punishments he would have gone through.

Hope everyone knows about the legendary comedy artist, Woody Allen. He has been a source of inspiration for me and for everyone in the media field for his creative thought-flows. But he did the unthinkable by marrying his step-daughter. Guys like them complicate the whole concept behind the word,"relationships"

I know a couple of friends who fall under the same category. I came across this wonderful song and it had me in splits. This song would sure make us all think. Check this video. If you are using a slow connection, please wait for sometime till the video buffers. (Please pause the song in the bottom of the page to listen to the video)

287. Modeling tips from an Ace-Model

Becoming a world class model is not an easy joke.A few necessities to become a top class model are

  1. Good looks
  2. Attitude
  3. Smile
  4. Confidence
  5. Dressing sense
  6. The knowledge of posing in front of the camera.

My niece Jolena (She is just a one and a half year old baby) is already all set to become a model for the next generation. If she finds any camera in her visibility, she knows what to do in front of it. Her mother (My sister) is her costume designer and official photographer.

Jolena's brother Jeremy is her hairstylist. To become one top notch model, you need to have all the specialists around you. When Jolena wanted a Public Relations Officer, i volunteered for the role and i was indeed lucky to get my job. This blog-post is a portfolio of some of her modeling poses. Below each photograph, Jolena has her own comments.

I call this, "The relaxed traditional Indian girl pose".All you need to do is sit in a slanting position and make sure that you rest your hands on a slightly raised platform. In the above photo, i pulled down the mattress and removed the bed spread. My brother is sleeping on the couch behind me. The dress i am wearing is called "pattu-paavadai". It is a south Indian dress.

In this photo, I added a glint of smile and you can also see me throwing a little bit of attitude. The whole idea is not to look at the photographer during the photo shoot. This gives a natural effect and you can see the difference from the first photo.

This is a simple, casual all-smile pose that i do with ease.My mom troubles me by making me wear these gold bangles. Can you see that my ears are also pierced. These old people do all sorts of crazy things on us.

Some times I intimidate the photographer by looking right into the lens. My brother was my hairstylist for this snap. I am infact hiding my brother's pencil box behind my back.

Yea! Girls rock!! That is the message I want to convey here through my T-shirt.Guys! Did you hear me or should I say it again? and finally...

I leave it for you to comment on this one...
